The website allows you to find and book your vehicle in for a repair, service or MOT with a trusted garage based in your locality and you can base your decision on customer reviews and cost as well.
Each Approved Garage use genuine car parts of original equipment (O.E.) standard, which means your warranty is protected thanks to a useful piece of legislation known as Block Exemption which works in your favour and protects your rights when you use an independent garage.

Independently Approved by Motor Codes and RAC inspected
All Approved Garages are required to be Motor Codes certified which means they are approved by the Trading Standards Institute Approved Code, and are committed to an open transparent and fair way of doing business.

Every Approved Garage is inspected by RAC as part of the Motor Codes sign-up process. The RAC will check a number of areas of the garage to ensure they meet certain standards.
Who is Motor Codes?
Motor Codes was set up by the motor industry to act as the self-regulatory body for the automotive sector and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
The Service and Repair Code was developed as a means of recognising quality within the industry and promoting peace of mind for motorists. It helps motorists identify responsible garages, offers a structured advice and complaints procedure and promotes good customer service.
Millions of motorists benefit from its protection and standards, in addition to the free advice line and dispute resolution service.
Motor Codes now has full approval of the Trading Standards Institute (TSI) Approved Code, for its Service and Repair Code, meaning that subscribing garages can display the TSI logo alongside the Motor Codes tick, to further reassure motorists.
Every garage has an RAC inspection carried out when they join Motor Codes and this inspection is repeated every 2 years.
