AAK Auto Services wins Independent Garage of the Year Award in the 2018 CAT Awards
AutoCare’s AAK Auto Services in Whitstable, Kent scooped the ‘Independent Garage of the Year’ award at the 2018 CAT Awards ceremony held at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester.
General Manager, Anthony Jhally, spoke to CAT Magazine after winning the award: “We are shocked and over the moon to receive this award. We are confident in our skills and have strived to be the best independent garage in the country.”
The most popular car colour for new car buyers last year was Black
Research by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, more than 500,000 black cars were sold in 2017. (20.3% of new black car sales)
In 2016, the most popular car colour was white cars, but this colour has gone down to third place with 19% of sales, with grey in second.
Learner drivers will be allowed on motorways from 4 June 2018
There is soon to be a law change whereby, learner drivers will be allowed to drive on motorways with an approved driving instructor in a dual-control car, in England, Scotland and Wales.
From Monday 4 June 2018, this law will come into effect, hoping to improve road safety for all.

Andy Reynolds, started his business in 1991 as a one-man-band, aged 31. He tells us his initial plan was to just to make through the first year and survive. To his surprise, the business thrived from the very get so and he worked extremely hard to ensure it kept ticking over. Soon, workload became too much for just one technician, so he realised that he would need to hire some help.
