Parent company GROUPAUTO has announced that well over 200 garages joined the Approved Garages network in 2015, taking the total size of the network to 664 independent businesses (at time of writing). The premium AutoCare network is currently 454 strong after adding 84 new garage members in 2015.
“We’re very pleased because it means that more and more of the very best independent garages are concluding that being part of our networks makes real business sense, in terms of our marketing clout, the name recognition generated by the AutoCare and Approved Garages brands, and because of the industry leading training members have access to,” said Maria McCullough, network manager for both AutoCare and Approved Garages.
“For customers, the good news is that this recruitment success means they’re never far from a fully accredited, Motor Codes-approved independent local garage, whether it’s an AutoCare or Approved Garages member.”
The networks have enjoyed a corresponding increase in customer reviews, which have leapt by 37% in 2015. They remain overwhelmingly positive. Approved Garages and AutoCare have a market leading customer satisfaction score of 99% awarded through the government backed, Trading Standards approved garage code Motor Codes.
But perhaps high customer satisfaction scores should not come as much of a surprise when you consider the spectacular success enjoyed by AutoCare members in the annual Motor Codes Garage of the Year awards, announced in June. Four AutoCare garages were named regional winners for 2015 and the most trusted garages in their area, with one, Crescent Motoring of Burton on Trent (West Midlands), named national champion for the second year in a row.
That success came in the year that AutoCare celebrated its tenth anniversary, cementing its position as the nation’s most trusted premium garage network. A celebratory trade show and conference in April highlighted the increasing confidence of both the AutoCare and Approved Garages networks, and ended with Earby Autos Ltd in Earby, Lancashire, picking up AutoCare’s own Garage of the Year award. Broad Street Motors in Pontypool, Millennium MOT Centre Ltd in Newcastle and last year’s winner AAK Auto Services in Kent were close runners up.
Our garage members continued to do sterling work for local and national charities in 2015. An honourable mention goes to Chris Rose and the team from Motcombe Garage in Shaftesbury, Dorset, who drove from “Dorset to the Dessert” in aid of Cancer Research UK and Maggie’s Cancer Centres. There were many more, and we’d like to thank all our garage members who raised money for their chosen charities in 2015.
And with a successful year drawing to a close, we’d like to wish all our garages and customers a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
