Christmas has come early – and in the nick of time – for one lucky AutoCare customer, who also happens to be the local vicar.
With a busy Christmas schedule ahead of him, Reverend Joseph Cant booked his old vehicle in for a battery change at M.H. Vehicle Services in Burton-on-Trent - and drove away with a brand new Peugeot 208 Allure (ordered by AutoCare from the UK's largest Peugeot dealer group Robins & Day).
“The win feels great and also a huge relief,” says Rev Cant, whose parish lies between Burton and Uttoxeter in East Staffordshire. “Our other car had recently become terminal, and we were having a bad experience with a second hand car dealer. Before we were informed we’d won we were relying on the kindness of other people to get the family around.”
Joseph scooped top prize in the AutoCare winter promotion, which customers were invited to enter after simply booking a vehicle in for repair, servicing or MOT at an AutoCare garage during October and November. Nearly 50 other prizes were up for grabs, including 11 Apple Watches, 15 Beats by Dr Dre headphones and 20 Ninja Nutri Blenders.
“I’ve used M.H. For about four years now and the service has always been excellent – Matt and Gill have always been honest and helpful,” adds Rev Cant. “I was shocked because the most I’ve ever won before is a box of chocolates at the church fete raffle!”
Happily Rev Cant can continue to use the local independent garage he trusts. As part of the AutoCare and Approved Garages networks M.H. Vehicle Services only uses original equipment or matched quality parts, so his warranty won’t be affected.
Maria McCullough, network manager for AutoCare and Approved Garages, congratulated Joseph on his win and confirmed that 2015’s winter promotion had been one of the most popular yet.
“We’re delighted that this fabulous car was won by a long standing AutoCare customer who clearly values the service he gets from M.H. Vehicle Services, and also by someone who obviously needs a working vehicle, especially at Christmas! And we’re also delighted by the number of entries the competition received and the business that it generated for our garage members,” she said.
In total the AutoCare winter promotion attracted a record breaking 6,670 entries, over 2,000 more than the previous car giveaway in the summer. Over 36% of entries were from new customers, and the promotion generated £1 million of business for AutoCare’s garage members.
It was also a personal triumph for Matt and Gill Hanson, the hard working owners of M.H. Vehicles Services, who won £200 of vouchers for attracting the most prize draw entries in their region.
Maria confirmed that plans for the next giveaway, scheduled for early summer 2016, are already well under way.
