M.H Vehicle Services Ltd from Fauld, Near Tutbury, Burton On Trent has scooped the main prize at the annual Garage Trade Show by being crowned AutoCare’s ‘Garage of the Year’ 2018.
Each year, AutoCare, a network of 710 trusted garages around the UK, holds a trade show and conference, where all garages are invited to attend.
M.H Vehicle Services from Burton On Trent was selected by AutoCare as the winner of ‘Garage of the Year;’ out of 710 garages, outperforming all other garages in the network. M.H Vehicle Services were up against very stiff competition, as all other garages in the network also operate at a very high standard.
M.H Vehicle Services have been established since 2012, starting off as husband and wife duo team, Gill and Matt Hanson, with one apprentice technician. Since then, they have grown tremendously, and now have 8-employees, and this keeps growing as their daughter has very recently come on board too. In January 2016, M.H Vehicle Services started a large new build project for their very own premises, from a flat field in January to a large 7,500 sq. foot commercial development that they moved into at Easter (April 2016). Thus this being the most ambitious thing that they have ever done, now is finally rewardable.
They are an independent garage offering a comprehensive range of vehicle services. They specialise in all forms of diagnostics and have invested in the latest diagnostic equipment. They do everything from MOT`s (Classes 1,2,4,5,& 7) servicing, repairs, brakes, diagnostics, clutches, tyres, to engine swaps.
The Garage of the Year award celebrates the garages’ excellence in marketing AutoCare at their garage premises as well as their own website, adhering to the AutoCare code of conduct, supporting and embracing the programme, actively sending customer feedback cards, and proactively attending the training courses and conferences and regional meetings that are provided by the network.
Gill Hanson, one of the owners of M.H Vehicle Services said: “Since joining the network about 5-6 years ago, we have never looked back. We are very proud to be part of the AutoCare and Approved Garages programme. It has made a big difference to us as a garage not only to be part of such a fantastic network, we feel like part of a family! AutoCare offers so much more to their garages than just training. The MAM software has made a big difference to us and to our customers as it is not only professional but with the reminders etc, it helps with repeat business. We generally don't need to advertise our business as such other than supporting local shows/events etc, our customers mainly do the advertising for us by recommending us to their family and friends. Our aim has always been high customer service as we feel if you look after your customers, then they are only going to keep coming back to you. We enjoy attending the regional meetings, there is always something new that we learn from them to take away!
“The best thing about AutoCare for me, is the competitions that our customers are able to enter, as this is great for business. Our customers love the competitions, we have been so lucky in the fact that quite a few of our customers have been winners. They have won a weekend break, sound bar system, coffee machine, Go Pro camera, but to top it off one of our customers won the car in the Winter 2015 competition. Which was absolutely fantastic!”
